This Mirin Japanese sweet rice wine seasoning from Takara will add a pure and natural splash of sweetness and flavor to any dish. This "Junmai" seasoning is pure in every sense of the word, made with only 100% Japanese domestic rice and alcohol, with no artificial flavors or colors.
Mirin is the special secret ingredient in every Japanese chef's arsenal that elevates any dish instantly. Koji malted rice enhances the natural sweetness and umami of the Japanese rice used as a base to the seasoning, creating a syrupy sauce full of body and flavor.
This product is a hon mirin, also known as "true mirin", which is the most traditional form of the seasoning. To be a hon mirin, mirin must be made from rice, koji and shochu alcohol, a combination that provides a deep umami flavor and balanced complexity, and have an alcohol content of around 14%.
