Shimanto is located in Kochi Prefecture, which is famous for its bountiful hinoki forest. Although this product is made with woods collected through the tree thinning process, its quality is regarded as superior among all the wooden materials in Japan. Unlike other hinoki wood, Shimanto hinoki wood has a faint pinkish hue and features greater antibacterial effects.
After cutting the bread, you can use the board as a tray. Its base acts as a crumb tray that allows you to clean up bread crumbs without scattering them on the table or kitchen counter while cutting the bread.
