Japanese arame seaweed (Eisenia bicyclis), also known as Sea Oak, is a delicious species of edible kelp related to kombu.
Processed arame has a softer texture than any type of kombu, so it is easy to use it as an additional ingredient in salad, soup, simmered dishes, marinade, and more. This particular Arame grows wild around Ise Island, and is is hand-picked by divers and naturally dried in the sun.
Enjoy the unique and natural flavor of this traditional Japanese sea vegetable.
You can store this product at room temperature; however, avoid exposure to direct sunlight and extreme hotness/humidity.
Please bear in mind that, unlike other kombu seaweed, arame is unsuitable for dashi extraction.
